Active Investment Management
WHAT IS ACTIVE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT?
Active investment management is based on a mathematical formula designed to optimize rate of return and lower downside market risk. Investment models are designed to change between investment selections as market conditions change. All investments are considered, including stock index funds, sector funds, bond funds, and money market funds – all designed to optimize rate of return and lower risk.
HOW IS YOUR APPROACH TO ACTIVE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS?
First and foremost, Reppond Investments is an independent Registered Investment Advisor. They are not beholden to a Wall Street brokerage firm who dictates what investment choices are made. Active investment management models were designed by Ben Reppond based upon over 10,000 hours of independent research. Secondly, the goal is to seek to optimize rate of return and lower risk by making tactical moves between different types and classes of funds. This is achieved by using a mathematical approach based on historical stock market patterns. In order to minimize risk, there is no use of individual stocks, shorting or leverage.
WHAT IS THE GOAL OF ACTIVE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT?
The goal is simple: Optimize performance and lower risk over time by using a proprietary mathematical model based on historical stock market patterns. There is a keen eye to managing downside risk on both a long term and short term basis.
HOW DO YOU LOOK AT RISK?
The primary way to manage risk with active investment management is to limit the amount and duration of drawdown. Drawdown is the degree of drop of an investment from its highest point to its lowest point.
WHAT IS YOUR FEE?
The maximum fee is 1.5% per year, paid quarterly. The fee is less for larger accounts. There are two things about fees that are both significant: One, it needs to be reasonable. Our fee is considered low for true active investment management. Two, what are you really getting for the fee you are paying? If the S&P 500 Index is a benchmark, NET returns after the fee should outperform the benchmark with hopefully less risk. If not, why do you need an investment advisor and why do you need to pay a fee? You don’t.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU REPORT YOUR RESULTS TO ME – AND CAN I UNDERSTAND THEM?
Reppond Investments uses an online reporting tool so clients can easily access their investment information any time – and so they can understand it. Ben Reppond personally communicates end-of-month data to each client along with his view of market conditions. The goal is frequent and understandable communication.
IN A NUTSHELL, WHY SHOULD I USE ACTIVE INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT WITH REPPOND INVESTMENTS, INC?
Simple: High value, low fees (for true active management) and frequent communication of real-time results. Our goal is for the client to get more than what they are paying for.
